African born and raised around the globe, Uru is a self taught Singer/Songwriter/Composer, Pianist, Dancer, Poet & Designer.
On her 7th birthday, she declared that she would “Sing to the world and make it happy”. She meant it.
A happy yet very serious Artist with a passion for music, she is most at ‘Home’, when performing and INTENSE, when creating.
Growing up, traveling the world is clearly heard in her music. Fluent in 5 languages… Uru has crafted her own signature sound of Rock, African-Hip-hop, Blues and Pop.
Always being concerned with the World, Uru has made it her quest to use her music to make a positive change whenever she can.
From her 1st Album under Tantrum Records, Her song “WRAP UP”, that she wrote for her AIDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN, granted Uru her first honour and commission as a *United Nations Goodwill Ambassador*.
With a background in Modeling, Make-Up Artistry, Design & Fashion; Uru will be launching her new Lifestyle TV Show / Webisode, based on Beauty, Health, Trends & Make-Up…!
Uru’s newest and 4th Album “PEOPLE”, recorded under Tantrum Records, now known as Rose Lane Records, has released its 1st Song & Video, “TONIGHT’. The video being the first shot on the Rose Lane Studio Sound Stage.
